In the “I should know better” column…
• Monday night, I watched Zodiac. It’s a well-executed film, but then again, the deck was stacked in its favor. I’m a fan of director David Fincher‘s work, and I enjoyed Mark Ruffalo‘s portrayal of his law enforcement character.
Unfortunately, it was also good enough that I had to sleep with my bedroom lights on, lest I have dreams of serial killers.
• I loooove Supernatural and finally cracked open my box set for the second season last night. Because my favorite parts of the series are the brothers Winchester and the mythology/tall tales that inspire the episodes, I usually don’t get too freaked out about the “demon of the week.”
However, the second episode of this season features a killer clown.
Clowns seriously creep me out. I didn’t always feel this way and can’t pinpoint when I began to view them as potentially malevolent. (Perhaps the commercials for Stephen King’s IT? That seems a little late actually.) A lot of it has to do with not being able to see their real-life faces.
