Busy/fun weekend!
I picked up the cool shoes you see here and a couple books. ^_^
Tuesday night left me Gilmored: I know some longtime fans of the Gilmore Girls were disappointed by the series finale, but I thought it was perfect.
I loved that, while Rory did get a great first job, she is getting paid realistic first-job-in-communications wages, i.e., wages that are anything BUT living wages. (In this case, she’s following a candidate on the campaign trail, so all she’s getting is a travel/hotel/food stipend.)
The Lorelei/Luke story resolved in a non-rushed way — no one tried to hustle them into a last-minute wedding or to the bedroom — and both sides acknowledged there is some work to do if they want to stay in a relationship.
Lorelei and her parents reached a point of acceptance, and Friday night dinners will continue voluntarily. And life in Stars Hollow — and for all of the characters — goes on. As it should.
Didn’t see the last five minutes of Desperate Housewives coming. Loved it. Can’t wait until next season. I’m also enjoying Brothers & Sisters. This show is so well-written, and it lets things be gloriously messy.
The season finale of 24 is coming up tomorrow night. They’d better do something cool, and if they don’t, I’ll be incredibly T’d off that I didn’t continue to follow Heroes.
Oh, and check out the podcast. This time we interviewed Patrick Macias, the editor of the new anime/Japanese pop culture mag that’s making its debut next month.
